How to Use the Magic Eraser Tool
Using the Magic Eraser Tool in MS Word
Whether you're editing templates, formatting a whitepaper, or putting together a document for a client, formatting text in Microsoft Word can sometimes prove difficult or challenging. In this breif guide, we'll walk you through how to use the "magic eraser" tool in Miscrosoft Word in order to wipe formatting from any block of text. If you're having issues with spacing, font, font size, or anything else - this should give you a clean slate to work with.
1. Start off with formatted text. For instance, the text in the screenshot below has the "Heading 1" style applied to it.
2. Highlight all of the text you want to remove formatting from.
3. Hover over the top tool bar. Find the A with an eraser icon by it, and click it with your text still highlighted.
Done! You have now removed all formatting from your text. It should now be converted to plain text, which is shown below.
